Oh sure, some of us lament our muffin tops, but never before has fashion been such a friend to the Mom. THE single hottest look of the season at LIV has been – hand’s down - the legging/jegging/skinny jean with a high boot, a loose fit white tank or tee (sequins optional!) a ‘boyfriend’ blazer or oversized cardigan, and a statement necklace. Simple, casual, comfortable, flattering. Hallelujah, no more tight dresses for the holidays! No more tights!

And as a mom with a 4-month old, I’d like to say a final word about the boyfriend jean. When I first laid eyes upon the boyfriend jean last year, I was horrified. NEVER! NO WAY! That’s what I said. TOO DUMPY, I proclaimed. The last thing I need is a sloppy jean. Lo and behold, last week I just happened to throw on a pair of Black Orchid boyfriends at LIV and it was love at first sight. Sooo comfy!! And kind of sexy too. And when I paired them with my Fluxus burn-out white V-tee and heather grey cardigan….MAGIC! I felt like a rock-star, not a mom of two. (Then again, Gwen Stefani is a mom of two too…) See what I mean? It’s a new world for moms + fashion.

The style right now is sexy and sloppy. It’s going to come on even stronger in the spring. Think Flashdance. Everything loose and heather grey, layered and off the shoulders. Sexy + sloppy. What more could a mom ask for?
